The Urban Cactus is a retail outlet for small businesses, especially for ones starting out. The owner, Tonya Marshall, has been in business for 11 years with her own small business, “Sewing Marshall”.
She is well aware of the feeling of rejection that can come from trying to be at a traditional shop. She, at one point, had 6 different shops and made less than $100 for the year, even after all that work of stocking each shop to be aesthetically pleasing.
She decided to turn personal stories like this, around. She really wants to help more small business owners out there to be successful. She established this website to give the small businesses in this collaboration the opportunity to have a broader horizon and get their products seen by a wider audience. This way there is a wider outlet for all of us to utilize.
